No School March 13
Thank you, Mrs. Cooke! Mrs. Cooke gave each teacher several hundred dollars to update our classroom reading libraries! We have received some of the new books and the kids are SO excited!
ACC-- (Blue group) I can identify and represent a fraction as a number on the number line. I can create equivalent fractions by using number lines, fraction strips or the multiplication method.
These are our I can statements we are working on this week.
ADV -(Green Group) I can relate multiplication to division. I can use strategies to solve multiplication and division problems. (use of number lines, arrays, fraction strips, etc.) ***Please make sure you are reviewing multiplication facts at home! Thanks.
ELA -Reading Adv: We are working on main idea and describing how reasons support specific points the author makes in a text.
Reading ACC: (blue) This week we will conclude our novel study of The Tale of Despereaux. We will have a test on Thursday. The students will be able to use their book and chapter summaries they have written, with the test.
ELA- Writing - Writing an opinion essay
Grammar: (Green group) Reflexive Nouns (words that end with self or selves)
(Blue group) Comparing words using -er or -est (and using more or most: Most difficult, etc.)
SS: We are working on a human rights unit. One important person we will study is Jimmy Carter.
